Buckle Up!!!

OK--I have one VERY HAPPY Teenage son, who when he came home was bordering on "giddy".  He passed his driver's test.  Yesterday was the first day I actually drove with him.  He did a great job.  Jeff has been coaching him for a long time and he took Driver's Ed at school.  This should be interesting.
I'm having a hard time getting into writing more.  I just haven't felt so good for a while now.  Last night I realized my hacking cough is very close to gone finally.  Maybe I'll feel like blogging more.  I have several "starts" that maybe I could polish up and post.  We'll see...I'm hoping to get with it soon!  Have I said that before?

Draper Temple Dedication

I sat there in a folding chair, listening as the Prophet prayed, and I wept.  I really felt like he was in the room and that a real conversation was happening between him and the Lord---and I was invited to listen.  I'm extremely thankful to live now.

I got to talk with my Dad before I went to the Draper Temple Dedication.  He's 75 years old.   WOW!!  I love him, and I'm thankful he's my Dad.  I'm proud to be his daughter.  I wish everyone could know what a great person he is!!!

I love to see the Temple-Draper Open House

Last Night we went to the Draper UT L.D.S. Temple.  It was beautiful.  I know there is a bunch of awful publicity about L.D.S. Temples these days because of misrepresentations in cable shows.  I just want you to know I know the Temple is the Lord's house.  It's beautiful, peaceful, and sacred--and should remain so, without being taken out of context.  Googla was so pleased that she kept finding Jesus (artwork) in the Temple.  This summer we'll be priveleged to attend another Temple Open House in Utah.  You should come, too.

Easy come, easy go?

Can I tell you what a BUMMER is?  I haven't even blogged about Clarence's 15th Birthday yet--it was on February 27th--and her big present it already gone...vanished...It happened sometime today.  I guess the local creeps know when people are at Church and target those areas to vandalize or steal from.  We didn't pay at extreme amount of money, but not a tiny bit either.  I'm so angry I think I'm seeing cross-eyed.  We didn't have it locked-up, but it was on our bike rack.  The jerks came up in our driveway to take the 1 week old bike.  It's the best present we've ever given Clarence for her birthday.  Usually we don't have a good idea of what to do, but this was PERFECT, and now it's gone.  She's calm and not showing any anger, I'm proud of her...but I'm still fuming!  We said a prayer and drove around town to see if we could see said bike.  Police say that most of the time stolen bikes are taken by someone who wants to get somewhere fast, and they ditch the bike once they get there.  Maybe it'll come back?  That would be nice!  Honestly, it probably won't happen, though.  I hope whomever has lost Clarence's bike for her really needed it.  I think I might check the pawn shop tomorrow.

Good Day Sir!

Maybe I'm a corny gal from the midwest---okay, that I AM, but I'm saddened by the death of a homespun man from the midwest: Mr. Paul Harvey. What a good, moral man. I remember hearing his voice over the crackling car radio way back when...when we'd drive to St. Joseph, MO. to the big-city-buildings where my dentist office was...when we'd be at home getting ready early Monday mornings to go clean the Church building, or before a session of weed pulling in the garden...I guess the reason I'm sad, other than he has passed away, is because bit by bit pieces of my childhood are ending.  Sweet memories.
